Barcelona! May 20!

We followed a recommendation from our apartment owners to a small restaurant called Milk on Calle Gignas 21. It was a pretty unique place compared to some of the classic bar type restaurants where most people sit outside. It was a short walk from our apartment and we were after a classic breakfast.

I was not disappointed when I ordered the eggs benny. It was delicious as were the little house potatoes that came with it. Jess had the pancakes that looked very good. I would recommend it for those in Barcelona looking for a good sit down breakfast.

Now the weather today was not so great so we spent most of our time walking around the city. We headed down from our apartment to the marina area, taking in the buildings and sculptures as we went.

We ended up at Mare Magnum which is a shopping centre on the water. We did not really do much there but more wandering though we did enjoy some Ben and Jerry's ice cream which was so yummy.

Wishing that the sun was out we ended up in Parc de la Ciutadella where we walked through it until we came to the park's fountain. I had seen pictures of it before and had wanted to visit it this time around after not seeing it when I came to Barcelona with my mother.  The water of the fountain was actually quite gross looking and looked like it had just been left to nature with a green colour to it.

After fully checking the fountain and the park out we wandered up away from the Parc to the Arc de Triomf. Which was pretty impressive to see.

More wandering of Barcelona, more wishing the weather was nicer. We did not have any plans today to do much since the weather was not on our side.  We wandered and wandered before heading to find some food.

For dinner we ended up at the Rosa del Raval on carrer dels Angels 6. It was a Mexican restaurant but the cheap margaritas were very delicious. We had some flautas to start which I found quite crispy. I guess they make them a bit differently here then they do back in Canada. I had the mushroom and cheese quesadilla which was very tasty.

So today was very lazy. We just walked around and saw some things. Nothing too exciting. Not good weather for us.
