I have just finished watching the new movie version of one of my favourite books. The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, has been my favourite book since I first read it. It was given to me by a friend and I had a deep connection with it. It has a lot of amazing things in it and I think everyone should read it.
I had watched the trailer for the new animated version of the book. I was not sure how it would go. If I would like it or if I would not. Today, cuddled under my blankets and drinking cup after cup of tea, I watched it. I loved it, the voice actors were great, the animation beautiful. How they captured the true essence of the book and animated it. I smiled, I cried, I cried some more.
Above is the trailer which I recommend you watch. If you have a chance to watch the movie, do it!
If you have not read the book, get on it! It's not a very long book but I think everyone should read it.
Sunday's always come around and it surprises me that another week has passed so quickly. Of course, when the week is actually happening it often seems to be going as fast as molasses. The weekend arrives and its over in a blink of an eye. Luckily as it is Easter, I had Friday and Monday to add to my weekend. Not much happened through the week working 8:30-6 most days. My most eventful day just happened to be today. The Liverpool Food and Drink Festival started today but I did not really feel like going. I met Jamie at her's and we walked to Tavern Company for some brunch. I enjoyed the Banana Foster Pancakes and boy we're they delicious.
We left the restaurant with full stomachs but no plan. We walked through Wavertree Playground and decided to stop in on the fun fair that was taking place. All the rides had such amusing graphics on them. Deciding to enjoy one ride, we got onto one that dragged you around. I think I remember it being called the Zipper when we had them at Sea Fair in my hometown. The song that played while we waited for the ride to start was quite amusing. Had us laughing.
After our ride, we walked through the Playground and then down to Smithdown where we caught the bus into town. Wandering around, we picked up milkshakes at McDonalds and headed over to the Odeon. We decided to watch the Water Diviner which was the perfect mix of good and sad. I had thought A Little Chaos was out but it wasn't listed so will have to wait to watch that. So far my Easter has been quite good.
This past week wet by really quickly. I only had to work three days so rather than take the bus I took the train. It was a nice experience. Work whipped by and I worked only four hours Christmas Eve and it was all on tills. All my housemates disappeared off to their own families leaving me all by myself. A bit of a lone wolf, I opened presents, drank, cooked myself a lovely turkey dinner and then in the spirit of Frozen built my own snowman using most of the snow in the yard. Lots of chocolate was also consumed over the four days I had off. I watched 'The Hundred Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared' a present from Jamie. My coworker Becky also got me the Welsh tv series Stella and I was able to get through the first four episodes.
With the new year coming I a trying to decide on some goals to set myself for travel but so far its relatively small. Will need more time to think about it.
So this past Saturday I saw a post on Tumblr with a set of gifs from the movie 'If I Stay' which I had never heard of before. I quickly watched the trailer and cried at how sad it was. I'm an emotional crier so sad movie instantly equals tears. I put my current book on hold and dove into reading this one which is by the author Gayle Forman. I burned through it and lamented to my sister that it was over. Her the amazing person that she is knew that there was a sequel to it called 'Where She Went' and I read that as fast as the first. I wanted to go to the movies on Tuesday as it's cheaper to go then so after work I hustled to the Odeon to make the 3:15 showing.
I made it in time to watch the film. I was glad I had so many tissues in my purse from being sick these past few weeks as I needed them. Definitely a tear jerker. I left the film texting my mother and sister how much I loved them.
Still needing to waste time before my train I decided to go to dinner at TGI Fridays. I was still a bit sad from the movie but I drowned my sorrows in a strawberry daiquiri which was delicious. I ordered the Jack Daniels burger and enjoyed that very much.
After my lovely dinner I headed to Starbucks to get a pumpkin spice latte as I noticed they had a very small sign announcing it. It was £3.25 for a tall which is quite a lot so I really hoped it was good. It was a bit disappointing and only in the last few sips did it taste anything remotely like pumpkin spice. I guess it needed a stir right away but I never thought of that in the store so had no way to stire it as I walked to Primark. I bought a nice fall sweater and purchased another long sleeve top to build my fall wardrobe. I also introduced myself to the nice security guard who calls me his favourite Canadian but am now feeling really bad as my memory has just forgotten it. :( I'll keep trying to remember it.
Leaving Primark I headed to Lime Street which was looking lovely in the evening sun and caught the train home.
I got home and booked my trip to Amsterdam since I found out I got my holidays confirmed. Really looking forward to planning that.
The morning of the 24th of April was very hard. It was the dawn of our last day of the tour. I had been hanging around with all these lovely people for sixteen days. I could have done with 16 more. We left our hostel, making our way through the quiet streets as we headed for where the bus was parked waiting for us.
