Back to London

As mentioned in my last Topdeck post featuring Bruges, it was the last day of my tour and we had just left Bruges to head from Belgium into France to Calais.  The drive from Bruges is little over an hour which seemed to fly by way too fast. Soon we were off loading our beloved Topdeck bus for the last time. Making sure we had everything as we would never see it again.

London Day 3

Before there was public transit people everywhere were forced to walk to all the places they wanted to go. (In this scenario horses and bicycles do not exist.) It seems I'm very stubborn and force myself to walk all the great distances rather than part with the money it costs to take public transit. Above is the map of where I walked to on March 19th on my 3rd and last full day in London. From the British Museum to the Monument to the Great Fire of London.

London Day 2.

I just finished attempting to drink tea with salt in it. Took a sip and realized the big jar of what I thought was sugar was actually salt. Disgusting!! Do not want! Going to scrap that idea of a cuppa for now.

London Day 2! It started with a heathy meal of some toast and jam swallowed down with some orange liquid that might possibly have been Tang? Very weak juice nonetheless. After breakfast I packed up my day pack and headed out on a walkabout. The plan was to wander around and eventually end up at Covent Garden at 11 am for my walking tour.

Travel to London and London Day 1.

I'm up, up and away...

London! London! London!

I'm on my way to you. I made it through security and am now sitting in the airport, taking deep breaths and preparing myself for the journey ahead. I cannot believe this day has finally arrived. It still feels like it should be a million days away. I cannot believe the support that I have had either. Everyone around me from family to friends to complete strangers has wished me well on my journey. They want me to do this. They want me to explore. I am going to. I am going to make friends. Travel to new countries. The list is endless but most of all I am going to be brave. This is my adventure. I hope you all enjoy it and follow along. Your support means everything to me.

Until we meet again.

My first trip to Europe

It seems like ages ago and I guess in a way it was. The very first time I travelled to Europe was in my senior year of high school in 2008. It was supposed to be an Art and History trip. I just wanted to go to Europe but this trip only served as a small taste of Europe and of travel that left me wanting more.

This trip was the very first time I had been outside of Canada. We drove from Powell River, stayed the night in Vancouver before flying to London. It was all a very quick run around.
