Saturday, saturday! It was the day of my birthday/going away party. I was very excited knowing that I was going to celebrate me! I never thought that I would ever come to know so many amazing people and that they would like me as a friend. I still pinch myself that I am so luckty to be friends with all of them.
What does one do on the day of their birthday/going away party? They get their nails did and eat loads of Mexican food of course!

A Happy Wednesday
March 5
Shawn had her drivers test this morning and she passed! Now she has her class five! Mom and I were both so happy for her. She stomped her N on the ground. Happy to get rid of it finally.

A busy beginning...
The end of February was a very busy time. I had my last day of work for Staples and we enjoyed an amazing pot luck of some of my favourite foods. We enjoyed the feast and it was hard to go back to work but the last few hours went by quickly and soon the last shift was over. I clocked out, said my goodbyes to my coworkers and handed over my fob and key. I headed out of the parking lot and I did not look back.

Weekend February 7-9
Friday! It's Perogy day!! Again we made our monthly trek to the Ukrainian church to enjoy all of it's goodness. I took my sister with us this time and I am looking forward to going in March with my mom.
Before perogies we stopped by The Last Crumb on Main St. where we tried their Winter Citrus Hot Chocolate as part of Vancouver's hot chocolate festival. I really enjoyed it and I also enjoyed a Chai cookie.

The weekend of fun
This weekend was pretty darn awesome and I was quite busy. I love being busy and I love when it involves my friends. Also helped that most of this weekend involved amazing food.
On Friday I went to Chongqing on Commercial with Jon, Michelle and Shawn. We shared some delicious peanut butter wontons. Okay, they aren't actually called that but thats what I call them and thats what matters. We had some spicy fried green beans, chicken chow mein, and some chinese broccoli. All so delicious.
The Baja Fish Taco from Tacofino. I also had their Chocolate Diablo cookie which was so amazing. Wish I had bought a dozen.
We enjoyed the Dougie Dog truck where I tried the Charlie Mac Dog and the LA Mexicana Dog. Jon and Earlin happily posing for me.
The homemade Butterscotch Rootbeer from Dougie Dog, so good!
My LA Mexicana Dog, I loved the spicy sausage, jalapenos, guacomole and the bacon.
Earlin, Jon, Sondra and Dan. My fellow food adventurers.

Saturday was a super fun day downtown by the art gallery where Earlin, Jon, Sondra, Dan and I took in the Dine Out Food Trucks that were set up. There was some amazing looking food happening.

As part of the Hot Chocolate Festival happening in Vancouver we enjoyed the Peppermint patty from Bel Cafe. It was very tasty but very rich. It came with a really yummy cookie.
On Sunday I attended a very lovely brunch at my coworker's Jess' place. She fed us a delicious breakfast of bacon, pancakes, eggs and sausages. It was all so good.
My other coworker Michelle was there as well and after brunch we painted our nails. Which is always a lot of fun. Jess and her roommate have a lot of nail polish. Like A LOT.
I had a really great weekend and was very happy that I was bale to spend so much time with my friends. I am very excited as I learned that Jess is going to be travelling to Spain in a few months and I hope to plan some time to spend with her travelling somewhere.
48 days left.

I am very lucky to how supportive my friends are of my big adventure.

The day has come!
I got my visa!!! So excited. Cannot believe that I will only be in Canada for 73 more days. 2 years in the UK. I don't even know what I am doing. I should get my visa in the mail in two days I believe but could be more due to the weekend.
I don't know if anyone actually reads my blog. I am sure it will be family when I am actually over in Europe but to anyone else out there, do say hi.
I cannot express so how much I relied on The Aussie Nomad for help on getting the Youth Mobility Scheme visa. It can be very confusing on the UK Border Agency website and he does a wonderful job of breaking it down.

Happy happy Tuesday
I called Rogers today to find out how many months I had left on my contract not really remembering what I started it but I got good news. My contract ends with them March 12! Just 4 days before I leave.
The lady was super nice and understanding. Informed me that I had to call in February to inform that I was cancelling. Can do! Adding that to my list of things to do.My bank appointment with Scotia went really well the other day. I feel really confident with them. The lady who helped me, Jocelyne was super nice and helped me go through setting up a bank account. She made sure I understood everything which I thought was great. Money is something I hate talking about. I don't like feeling stupid over things I do not know and she really helped a lot. I will need to set up an appointment with BMO and change my accounts to lessen the fees before moving most of my funds to Scotia. The cool thing about Scotia is that they are linked to so many different banks abroad so that you don't have to pay crazy fees.

Happy Things
I was watching YouTube videos by zefrank1 and his video 'What's on Your Happy List?' made me think about the small things that make me happy.
-wading in water
-long green grass on bare feet
-when my cat curls up against me
-putting fresh socks on
-the cool underside of a pillow
-getting mail
-having friends that don't mind if I sleep on them
-the sound of a gentle stream
