My first Liverpool match at Anfield

Watching a Liverpool match at Anfield was one of the things I wanted to do during my stay in Liverpool. Even seeing Liverpool play away would have been amazing but on Monday I was lucky enough to be surprised by Jamie with tickets to the Capital One Cup fourth round match against Middlesbrough. We met up in town after I got off work and wasted the time before the match with a bit of shopping, wandering and delicious food at TGI Fridays. Catching the 15 to Huyton we walked to a pub and warmed ourselves up before heading to Anfield.

Our seats were in the corner but we had a good view over the pitch. Liverpool started off the scoring with a goal in the 10th minute by Jordan Rossiter. After half time Middlesbrough tied up the score. This meant that when 90 minutes came around they would go into half an hour of overtime. Both teams scored leaving the game still tied at 2-2 meaning they would go to penalties. Liverpool ended up winning 14-13 with only Raheem Sterling not scoring. So for the game we saw Jordan Rossiter, Mario Balotelli, Lucan Leiva,  Suso, Adam Lallana,  Jordan Williams, Kolo Toure, Mamadou Sakho, Javier Manquillo, Jose Enrique, Simon Mignolet all score. The penalties went on for so long as they had to keep going until someone missed.  We were very happy with the result and in true Liverpool fashion they kept us on the edge of our seats the entire match.
